Smoky, savory chorizo sausage contrasts deliciously with sweet summer fruit. Grilling them together unites the ingredients with a seared taste that is perfect for summer entertaining. If cherries or figs are not in season, try apples, apricots or pineapples.
Makes 4 servings.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients: • 12 oz Spanish cooking chorizo (I used bilbao), cut into half inch circles • 1/2 pound of cherries (pitted if you can find them or have the time to pit them) • 1/2 pound fresh figs • 1 large red onion, cut into 1 inch squares • Olive oil • Skewers
Preparation: Skewer the ingredients together, alternating between chorizo, fruit and onion. Place in a casserole dish and drizzle with olive oil. Cook over medium high heat on the grill for about ten minutes, rotating the skewers periodically. Serve with good bread and white wine.

Dates (preferably pitted) Blue Cheese Crumbles Prosciutto Toothpicks
Preheat oven to 400
1. Make a slice down the side of each date and pull out the seed (if they're not pitted). You do not cut end to end, just a large enough slice to get the seed out and stuff the blue cheese in
2. stuff the date with blue cheese crumbles
3. wrap in prosciutto a couple times and hold it there by placing a toothpick through the date
